Detox Your Cleaning Supplies

Detox Your Cleaning Supplies

What do you use to clean in your home? Products like soaps, cleaners, sanitizers, detergents, and sprays can contain harmful chemicals. These chemicals can be wreaking havoc on the health of you and your family members without you even realizing it. Many endocrine disruptors and potential carcinogens are hidden among the ingredients in cleaning supplies.

I love visiting the Environmental Working Group’s website and looking at their guides for various products. Check out their Guide to Healthy Cleaning to see how the products you use rank. If you use common brands such as Ajax, Clorox, Fabuloso, 409, Greenworks, Method, Tilex, SOS, Simple Green, Mr. Clean, Pledge, Swiffer, Lysol, Windex, Soft Scrub, Pure Citrus, Renzuit, AirWick, Glade, Poo-Pourri, Febreze, Cheer, Downy, Fab, Gain, All, Oxiclean, Tide, Wisk, Dreft, and Woolite. All these brands have some products that gained an F rating with EWG.

So take a look at your products like laundry detergent, all-purpose cleaners, air fresheners, floor cleaners, and bathroom and kitchen cleaners. If you want to take it further, start looking into your body products as well like soaps, shampoos, lotions, and more.
